A Little Bit Craftsman, A Little Bit Hemingwayish, A Whole Lot of VIEW!! You only have to sit for a few minutes on the back patio, gazing at the mountains soaring in front of you, before you're hooked. This may be the Malibou Lake home with the most impressive mountain vista. It's certainly why the famed television series, Mash, was filmed just below the property. The main house retains all of the character of the classic 1933 Craftsman homes built in that decade, but extensive renovating makes it a dream to live in. Just walking into the front entry, with the rounded cupola, vaulted, wood beamed ceilings, all in gorgeous pine, and you know you're in for a unique experience. Walk up six steps through French doors, and the master bedroom also faces those majestic mountains. More French doors lead to a patio off this room, so you can gaze at your heart's content. Of course, the en suite bath and walk-in closet are perfectly updated, and the soaking tub has a 7- foot window overlooking, of course, that view! If that isn't enough, you can enjoy morning coffee in front of the room's fireplace. Most of the living areas have slate floors, except for the hardwood floor of the master bedroom and two guest bedrooms. A fourth room works beautifully as another guest bedroom or office. All of the windows have been replaced with casement windows, as well as three added skylights in the living room. A large fireplace, made of the local stone, is the centerpiece of this room, which joins a large open kitchen, remodeled with granite, ceramic farm sink, and lovely cabinets with glass, cupboard doors. A spiral staircase leads downstairs to a huge media/family room. But the best is yet to come! Three French doors open from the living area to the outdoor patio, with infinity pool and spa. Ten enormous boulders are placed strategically around the pool, mimicking the hundreds lining the mountains. To the right of the patio is a pool house, with a fireplace and folding, invisible glass doors for protection in colder weather. Next to this is a BBQ station and just below the pool is an outdoor shower. There is also an office, a large utility/storage room on the side of the main house, and a two-car garage. The owners, avid gardeners, have laid out an acre of pathways, with spots to sit on the stone walls and enjoy the landscape. They also had a 900 square foot guest house built on the adjoining lot, in the same color and style as the main home. When you come to visit this property, be sure to bring a pair of binoculars. Once you settle into the deck chair, put your feet up on the coffee table, and hone in on a family of deer lolling on the mountain side, believe me, you'll never leave!!
